Firstly, I want to thank the team of people I work with at Heritage Medical & mainly Moss Street Medical which has been my main “GP Home”!
As many of you know, I came to Nowra in 1986 & worked in a few practices before setting up our first practice in 1998. This was a shared business decision with Drs Jenny Woods & Janet Kunze.
It was certainly unique, especially in Nowra, for 3 women to embark on setting up their own General Practice & I am proud we did this but also thank the incredible support we have received from our patients.
The practice has grown from humble beginnings in a small cottage in North St to now offering a broad range of care from our sites in Nowra, Moss Street Medical & Park Medical as well as Cottage Medical at Berry.
Our business supports a variety of independent GPs who provide exceptional care & a variety of expertise to the community.
I still enjoy my clinical work but feel it is time to embark on other activities & hence have started to alert my patients that from 3rd July 2024, my regular clinical practice will cease.
We have many exceptional GPs working from our rooms & I feel very confident that there will be a suitable GP for all my patients.
Though I won’t have regular sessions, I will continue contributing to the high-quality care provided by the group of GPs who choose to work from our rooms.
My roles will include teaching, supervising & sometimes filling a gap so other GPs can take leave. Hence, don’t be surprised if you see me at the practice.
My strong suggestion is that most patients will benefit from having 2 GPs working from our rooms with whom you feel comfortable, in that way, it will be likely you will be able to see one of your choices. Also remember that the senior GPs supervise registrars who also offer high quality care & will discuss any concerns with your usual GP.
I look forward to seeing you to discuss your needs in the coming months, but I am also delighted if you have already found your preferred GP who will look after your health needs.
